JAWIRA comes from Aymara, the language of the Andean highlands, and means river.
Nine brass elements hang one below the other: a circle at the top, then three half-circles opening like bowls. A small circle in the middle. Then three half-circles curving outward, and a circle again at the bottom. The lower half mirrors the upper one, the way still water reflects its bank.
The patina is developed by hand. Turquoise, copper rosé and bronze settle in layers without fully blending, and they fall differently on every element. I guide the process; the material has its own say. That is why JAWIRA exists exactly once.
At 8 cm wide, JAWIRA fits where larger pieces don't: beside a door frame, between two windows, on a narrow hallway wall.
