Bringing an idea to life is one of the most gratifying things I know.

I’m fascinated by light, shadow, movement — the way a tree shifts in the wind, the way sunlight changes a room, the way certain objects seem to hold an energy of their own. I notice myself drawn to objects with character, with a certain pull.

Objects that change the atmosphere around them.

I feel this same quality in my wall hangings and light catchers — an energy, a presence, something that subtly changes the atmosphere around them.
Not simply fill a space, but become part of it. To catch the light, create movement and bring something unexpected into a room.

For me, creating is also about action. About making something happen through movement, attention and curiosity. There is something powerful in working with your hands, slowing down enough to observe, and allowing an idea to take shape through the process.

And this is where brass comes in.

I love the moment my hands meet the material. The warmth, the weight, the smoothness of a freshly finished surface. I cut, file, shape, sand and polish — sometimes with a clear idea of where I’m going, sometimes allowing the material to lead the way.

There is a certain calm in this.
Filing. Shaping. Looking. Adjusting. Starting again.

And then comes the patina — perhaps the most unpredictable part of the process. I never know exactly how a surface will develop. I work with the material, observe its transformation and make decisions along the way. Every piece becomes its own.
That unpredictability is part of what I love.

Creating these pieces is an ongoing conversation between idea, material, movement and time. And somewhere along the way, something comes alive.
I hope that a little of this energy finds its way into the finished piece — and ultimately into the space it becomes part of.
